If you are planning on hiring a car to do some off road sightseeing when you're in the Algarve be aware that Hertz vehicles, including 4x4s, are to be used only on normal roads and driving off-campus is a violation of the rental agreement.

We recommend that you try to book your rental car as far in advance as you can. This will secure the best deal and also that you get the type of vehicle that you require.

Booking online before you leave can make you a saving or around 10%. The fees at the rental desk in the terminal are always more expensive so we advise everyone to book in advances.
